Cookbook writer Adeena Sussman samples Cleveland food culture with Doug Trattner [Video]

Renowned cookbook author and social media sensation Adeena Sussman made her first visit to Cleveland recently, attending an event hosted by the Jewish Federation.

CLEVELAND — Adeena Sussman first made waves in the food media world as the co-author of Chrissy Teigan’s “Cravings” cookbooks. But she has since stepped into the spotlight as cookbook author in her own right with back-to-back hits titled “Sababa: Fresh, Sunny Flavors From My Israeli Kitchen,” and “Shabbat: Recipes and Rituals from My Table to Yours.”

The California-raised, Tel Aviv-based writer was recently in Cleveland for the first time for a speaking engagement with the Jewish Federation of Cleveland. Doug Trattner had a chance to sit down with her at one of our local institutions.

The pair met at Davis Bakery, one of the oldest Jewish delis in the region. There Sussman sampled her first coconut bars, Russian tea biscuits and Don Hermann pickles.
