Local leaders encouraged people of color in the community to pursue promising careers and follow in the footsteps of role models who look like them.

“The significance of this event is to let people in this community know that there are black people and people of color who look like them, who are leaders, who are in positions like the assistant chief, pastors, probation officers, firefighters, and they could look up to them,” said Daniel Hunt, ConnCORP’s community liaison.
Hunt said everyone on the panel had strong community ties and hoped the event would inspire the younger generation to take control of their futures.
