WASHINGTON D.C. – Congressman Doug LaMalfa took to the House floor to express his deep concerns about the ongoing wildfires in Southern California and the broader issues surrounding forest management.
LaMalfa questioned why wildfires continue to devastate communities, particularly in Southern California, and what is being done to address the underlying problems.
“Now it’s hitting the constituents in Southern California, hard. Why does this have to keep happening? Why isn’t anything being done to really mitigate the issues of forest management and lower the risk? Why is the water being cut off at the hydrants?” LaMalfa said during his speech.
The Congressman’s remarks come as wildfires continue to ravage parts of Southern California, raising alarms over the effectiveness of current wildfire prevention measures.
