PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A new play is coming to the Hamilton Family Arts Center at Arden Theater Company.
Written by Matt Shvyrkov and directed by Jonathan Edmondson, “Confabulation” follows a gas station attendant trying to confront buried aspects of herself – intertwining past lives and future fears.
“’Confabulation’ is a look at a past life regression support group trying to grapple with the questions of ‘Who am I,’ but also, ‘Who was I?’” said Maybe Burke, assistant director of Strides Collective, a theater company that tells stories centered around the LGBTQ community.
It debuts the week of OURFest. Burke says the timing “couldn’t be more perfect.”
“I just want audiences to be a little bit more aware of the layers that other people might be navigating that informs how they interact with each other,” Burke said.
The show runs through Oct. 20. Tickets and more information can be found here.
