Company plans to expand facility at Brookley [Video]

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Aerostar plans to expand its facility at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in Mobile.

The $4.7 million expansion is expected to add 50 jobs over the next three years, according to the Mobile Chamber of Commerce.

Those new jobs would more than double the number of employees to 110, said President and Managing Partner Greg Guzman.

The chamber said the expansion will help the company continue repair services for various aircraft components used by airlines.

“Aerostar’s expansion comes at a time when Mobile is working diligently to strengthen its position as a leader in aerospace and aviation services,” Bradley Byrne, president and CEO of the Mobile Chamber said in a statement. “This expansion is a testament to our city’s appeal as a hub for advanced manufacturing in the aerospace industry, and it will provide new, high-quality jobs for the people of Mobile.”
