Community walks for Type 1 Diabetes research [Video]

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — People came together Saturday on Michigan State University’s campus for a walk toward a world without type 1 diabetes.

It was the annual Breakthrough T1D Walk to celebrate and raise money for people with type 1.

In addition to the walk around campus, people were able to enjoy activities like face painting, yard games and a bouncy house. There were also several local vendors, costume characters and team photo opps.

Bills introduced for cleanup of ‘forever chemicals’

Many groups came decked out in customized outfits to show their support for loved ones with type 1. People tell 6 News they’ve been participating in the walk for years, and the best part is the sense of community that comes with it.
