The center is being opened by the county and the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency.
The center will be administered by the county government and the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency (GEMA). It will be open Monday from noon to 5 p.m., then operate Tuesday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Barrow County Leisure Services Center at 175 2nd Street in Winder.
Anyone wishing to donate to the recovery efforts and the center’s operation can do so here. Right now the public is asked to donate cash only and “please refrain from donating tangible materials until specific requests are made.”
