WEST FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – The community rallied around a West Fargo boy fighting an extremely rare form of cancer during his Lend A Hand Up benefit today, January 21.
He’s just one of ten cases on record.
12-year-old, Jackson Berg, is fighting against Primary Renal Rhabdomyosarcoma. He was diagnosed with the disease in May of 2024, and shortly after, came the extensive treatments.
“Right now, they do know the protocol that he’s on – the chemo protocol, the radiation, the surgeries to remove the tumor, it does work,” said Amy Berg, Jackson’s mom.
To help get through his treatments, Jackson receives JoyJars, a gift filled with treats and toys for other kids fighting cancer. In October 2024, Jackson’s jar was stolen off of his front porch.

The joy was gone then, but now, joy filled the air as community members came together to support Jackson at his benefit, held at Secure Title, Inc. in West Fargo.
