A local law firm and a community-building organization are distributing shoes, backpacks and school supplies to local school children.
SPOKANE, Wash. — A community celebration to build confidence in school-age children and supply them with shoes, backpacks and school supplies will take place Saturday, August 10 in Spokane’s East Central neighborhood.
The celebration will be held at Underhill Park from 12 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and is open to children in grades K-12.
There is no payment necessary, but organizers ask that those planning to attend pre-register on their website.
A local law firm, The Way to Justice, and a community-building organization, the Spokane Eastside Reunion Association (SERA) are working together to bring the event to life.
Last year the community celebration gave supplies to over 1,200 students and organizers say they hope to double that number this year.
