OROVILLE, Calif. – The community navigator program in Oroville is an outreach program that helps connect homeless people with local resources — but they need help.

The Oroville Community Development Coalition and the Oroville Police Department have come together to tackle homelessness in the past year with this program. They give out brochures filled with local resources so the homeless can get back on their feet.

“We help with domestic violence or drug and alcohol abuse, assistance or homelessness assistance or mental health services you name it. Now that brochure gets distributed by the community navigator it’s in every police department car and code enforcement” says Councilman Shawn Webber.
