Community comes together to repair West Albany High School baseball field | News [Video]

Volunteers are busy reversing years of decay at West Albany High School’s baseball field.

ALBANY, Ore. – A mix of home construction crew members, youth sports parents, high school coaches, staff and city officials came together on September 10 to repair the decades-old baseball field at West Albany High School.

The field has deteriorated in recent years due to its age, weather and even the lack of funds and volunteers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Volunteers said they’re playing catch up and working to repair the beloved field.

The dugout after a day’s work of repairing water damage and other issues that plagued the baseball field over the course of several years.
