WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Kathy Butler, a second grade teacher at Williams Township Elementary, says her students love hands-on activities. They especially like working in groups or with a partner.
To expand on that, Ms. Butler hopes to buy a Scotch Thermal Laminator and bins with magnetic boards and letters for centers and group activities. She’s seeking donations through DonorsChoose, an online charity that helps teachers get funding for school projects.
The Hand 2 Mind bins with magnetic boards and letters will give us an added resource to build words and increase fluency,” Butler said on her Donors Choose page. “We will use the laminator to laminate the center activities for reuse for years to come.”
She needs $577. Once she is fully funded, DonorsChoose will purchase the bins and deliver them to the school.
