WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Six new computers for her students would be music to the ears of a teacher at Island Montessori School. Kristin Woodie teaches music there and is hoping she can get help buying laptops for her classroom.
She’s asking for donations through DonorsChoose, an online charity that helps teachers get funding for school projects.
“Last year marked a significant milestone as I finally had my own music room,” Ms. Woodie said on her DonorsChoose page. “While it was a successful year, I realized that having computers could transform our program. Technology opens doors to amazing online resources that teach music theory, composition, and professional score writing.”
Computers aren’t cheap so it’s a big ask. Ms. Woodie needs $1,717 to buy the computers. She has until December to raise the money. Once she is fully funded, DonorsChoose will purchase the laptops and deliver them to the school.
