Aswad Thomas was about to go to Europe to play professional basketball when he was shot leaving a convenience store. That ended his career and put him on a path to help other victims of gun violence, promote public safety and reform the criminal justice system. He has worked to set up trauma recovery centers across the county and he wants to bring them to the DMV. He speaks with FOX 5’s On The Hill about his recent efforts with the Alliance for Safety and Justice.
