Roughly 5,000 fans were expected at the final game, where they enjoyed player autographs, fireworks, and a chance for kids to run the bases.
COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Columbia Fireflies wrapped up their 2024 season on Sunday, taking on the Charleston RiverDogs at Segra Park.
“It’s been a great season. We had tremendous support from the community,” Columbia Fireflies Team President Brad Shank said. “Columbia has really embraced the fireflies ever since we’ve gotten here, and we’re truly grateful for that.”
Officials estimated more than 5,000 fans would attend the team’s 66th and final home game of the season. Some of the team’s youngest fans got to run around the bases after the game ended.
