College scholarships awarded to 3 deserving Staten Island high school seniors [Video]

The Bayway Community Advisory Panel (CAP) Recently awarded $1,000 scholarships to 14 local students in the municipalities of Linden, Rahway, Elizabeth, and Staten Island, including three borough seniors: Erin Harris, a student at St. Joseph Hill Academy High School, Jose Perez IV of Curtis High School, and Sharif Rafa, also of Curtis.

The winners were selected on the basis of academics (transcript/SAT/ACT scores); financial need; essay; and science/math teacher recommendation letters. The application was open to candidates pursuing a college, university, career or vocational school education in the fall in the fields of process technology or engineering (chemical, computer, electrical, or mechanical).
