NEW ORLEANS — Elite playoff teams are defined by exceptional coaching. In the classroom, teachers are the coaches.
“These teachers are impacting young people who represent the future of this community,” said Jeff Hundley, CEO of the Allstate Sugar Bowl. “So we want to support them as best we can,” he said.
According to Hundley, their partnership with the College Football Playoff Foundation is not just about football. They have also championed New Orleans Public Schools. Over the past five years, $5 million has been invested to help recruit, recognize, and retain exceptional educators.
“I often use the phrase that we get to work in the toy department of life,” Hundley said. “This makes you feel like you’re really making an impact where it matters.”
