It’s been nearly a month since Vice President Kamala Harris held a formal press conference and now that she’s the party’s nominee to go against former President Donald Trump, reporters are asking when she’ll start answering questions.
“Would it kill you guys to have a press conference?” CNN’s Jim Acosta asked Harris’ communications director, Michael Tyler, on air.
“The vice president and Gov. Walz have been busy crisscrossing this country since the launch of this campaign and adding Gov. Walz to the ticket. You saw the way in which they went across the battleground states last week generating rallies of thousands, 10,000 here, 15,000 there,” Tyler said.
Acosta jumped in and said, “A campaign rally is not a press conference” and pressed again, “Why not do it?”
“We absolutely are going to do it,” Tyler said. “She said last week we’re going to be having a sit-down interview before the end of the month.”
