Cleveland Polar Plunge to raise funds for Special Olympics Ohio [Video]

The event will take place on Saturday, Feb. 22, in downtown Cleveland, as part of the statewide “Freezin’ for a Reason” campaign.

CLEVELAND — Special Olympics Ohio’s annual LETR Polar Plunge is returning to Cleveland in 2025, giving community members a chance to support over 20,000 Special Olympics athletes across the state. 

The event will take place on Saturday, Feb. 22, in downtown Cleveland, as part of the statewide “Freezin’ for a Reason” campaign.

During the event, participants will brave icy waters to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics Ohio, which provides year-round sports training, health education and leadership programs for athletes with intellectual disabilities. 

Last year, the Polar Plunge season drew nearly 2,000 participants statewide and raised over $750,000 for the organization.
