CLEMSON, S.C. (WSPA) — Former President Trump and Vice President Harris are set to face off Tuesday for the first presidential debate.
A group of Clemson University students are set to analyze the debate at the university’s Social Media Listening Center.
Brandon Boatwright, the listening center director, said the group uses software to analyze social media conversations from 350 million different sources like X, Instagram and Facebook.
“It provides a raw kind of unfiltered way for people to evaluate how others are perceiving and understanding the conversation around the debate,” said Boatwright.
Ahead of the debate, the group said the most trending topic is policy, prep and questions.
“The reach of keywords like Harris or Trump and debate have reached over 30.2 billion already, and I believe it’s been mentioned over 20 million times,” said Micaela Bridges. “Seeing that live in the past 24 hours is actually insane.”
