A Liberty High School senior must remain on the bench for a few more days while a Clay County judge decides if he can play in games for the Blue Jays’ varsity basketball team this season.Clay County Circuit Court Judge David Chamberlain asked for more time to consider arguments regarding Tayshaun “Rue” Wells’ eligibility to play under Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) bylaws.Wells, 17, has worked through five months of appeals to MSHSAA after leaving his home in Springfield, citing an unsafe home, neighborhood, and bullying at school.Wells said shootings and drug deals took place in his neighborhood. He was bullied at school and during basketball games.
