NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – City officials announced their six finalists for the police chief position for the North Charleston Police Department back in September.
North Charleston Mayor Reggie Burgess received final background checks from the Police Executive Research Forum.
Burgess says they are carefully reviewing all candidates qualifications, leadership abilities and community relationship skills as before they make a final decision.
They also stated that the safety, trust and the city’s future are the three main things officials take into account for the city’s next police chief.
The candidates are Jason Bruder of North Charleston, Ronald Camacho of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, Karen Cordray of North Charleston, Kyle Dowdy of Farmington, New Mexico, Angela Johnson of North Charleston and Jerri Sutton of Chattanooga, Tennessee.
