City of Vienna issues survey on Spencers Landing development [Video]

VIENNA, W.Va. (WTAP) – The City of Vienna is conducting a survey to see what the public has to say about the development of Spencer’s Landing.

The city is in the process of developing a plan for developing Spencer’s Landing, potentially adding an amphitheater and other recreational amenities.

Friends of Vienna President Jack Mathers said the survey asks several open-ended questions, giving people in the community a chance to make their voices heard. He said there are a lot of development possibilities at Spencer’s Landing that could help spur broader economic growth in the community.

“We start developing our riverfront, we develop, we have an amphitheater, we have festivals, we have events, we let West Virginia University use it and put plays on, whatever,” Mathers said. “So many different things that we can do that has an economic impact.”
