Redding, Calif. – The Redding City Council voted to move forward with a short-term solution to reopen the Redding Sports Complex, also known as Big League Dreams. The plan requires the city to take over direct management of the park until a long-term contract can be established.
Redding’s Director of Community Services, Travis Menne, tells Action News Now that many challenges must be overcome before they can unlock the gates. These challenges include staffing the park and making necessary repairs. The city council voted to allocate $200 thousand to go toward operations and maintenance to aid in those tasks. Menne is also working with local teams to work out a solution that can roll out as quickly as possible.
