MUSKOGEE, Okla. — The Muskogee Parks and Recreation Department celebrated the completion of renovations for the Muskogee Swim and Fitness Center on September 20 with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
The City acquired the facility from the American Red Cross in 2007 with the goal of establishing a building that would serve community members through fitness and aquatic programs.
After considering future plans for the facility, it was decided that renovations and upgrades were needed.
Visibility, accessibility, and safety were considered when designing the new, open-concept floor plan.
Completed renovations include an expanded fitness center with new athletic flooring, a relocated information kiosk for better visibility, additional equipment, LED lighting, and a new fire alarm system throughout the building.
