City of Midland to open Garfield Street lanes ahead of school year [Video]

MIDLAND, Texas — On July 29, the City of Midland will open both the northbound and southbound lanes on Garfield Street through Community Lane, according to a press release from the City of Midland. 

The release outlined that this improvement aimed to enhance access to San Jacinto Junior High when school resumes in August and will also allow four-way access at the Garfield and Golf Course intersection. 

While crews work on completing sidewalks and driveways, lane closures will affect the outer lanes. Additionally, Garfield Street south of Community Lane will remain closed as crews continue their work on concrete paving.
