City of Gadsden receives grant for new mobile command center [Video]

GADSDEN, Ala. (WBRC) – The City of Gadsden is getting a grant from Homeland Security for $114,000 to help keep you safe with a new mobile command center.

Gadsden’s Director of Community Engagement Ruth Moffatt calls this huge for the city.

“Being a grant city allows you to do extended projects so it’s important to be a grant city and to grab those extra dollars that serve your community. It allows us to respond swiftly and effectively in times of disaster. When you think about the disasters we had up on Noccalula. The mobile command center will be fully operational during natural disasters, public safety emergencies, and large public gatherings, providing a mobile hub to coordinate responses and manage resources.
