CHICO, Calif. – The City of Chico held a community workshop Thursday night where members of the public were invited to provide input on developing the city’s next five year Consolidated Plan.
Officials say that the Consolidated Plan determines the allocation of federal Housing and Community Development funds over a five year period, beginning in 2025 and ending in 2029.
The plan outlines the City of Chico’s strategy to meet the federal goal of developing viable urban communities.
MaryJo Alonzo, the Housing Program Analyst for the City of Chico, tells Action News now that the five year plan aims to bring more decent housing to Chico, expand economic opportunities for people of low and moderate incomes, and improve city-wide living environments.
