City mayoral race has another contender [Video]

Former Buffalo City Court Judge James McLeod says he is focused on economic development, enhancing public safety, and promoting community engagement.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — There’s a new name to add to those making a run for Buffalo’s top office.

Former Buffalo City Court Judge James McLeod formally announced his candidacy for mayor on Saturday. After spending decades on the bench, McLeod said he is focused on economic development, enhancing public safety, and promoting community engagement.

“A lot of politicians come in and say, ‘Oh, this is what you folks need.’ No, the folks immediately around there, they know what they want for the community, and we should listen to them and support the majority vote and move forward with that, as opposed to trying to push my ideas and my values on them,” McLeod said.
