City, county hold news conferences ahead of Beryl [Video]

Residents are advised to keep an eye on the City’s and County’s social media pages for communication about the storm.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Officials with the City of Corpus Christi and Nueces County held two separate briefings to give Coastal Bend residents much needed information regarding Hurricane Beryl and local preparations. 

“We are on constant conference calls with the National Weather Service, we are on constant calls with our EOC’s,” Scott said. “Our department’s are all working together throughout the county.”  

Scott said that residents who are in RV’s or campers should take special precaution if they plan to leave town.

“It takes a while to pack those up, they take up a lot of space on the highways,” she said. “We prefer that you get those out and get moving down the roads.”  

Corpus Christi Fire Department Fire Chief Brandon Wade said the City’s Emergency Operations Center will be a key part of their response plan.
