The company confirmed that diesel fuel was erroneously delivered to the wrong underground storage tank.
AVON, Ohio — On Sunday, Jan. 19, several customers stopped for a routine refueling at the Avon Circle K on Chester Road. Shortly after their visit, they found their cars damaged and the bill to fix it was in the thousands of dollars.
A week later, a spokesperson from Circle K confirmed that a gas delivery “mistake” was responsible for damaging the customers’ cars.
In a press release, the company said diesel fuel was erroneously deposited into the wrong underground tank.
Circle K officials also said they are currently working with 14 customers whose cars were damaged by the error.
