‘Chuffed’ Sylvia rounds off 103rd birthday with limo ride, ice cream and 1,000s of cards [Video]

It started with a simple appeal to help get 103 cards to help Sylvia Dalton celebrate her 103rd birthday.

It ended with a Limo ride, ice cream and an amazing grand total of 2,025 cards from across the world. Sylvia lives at MHA Montpellier Manor in Stainton, Middlesbrough, and turned 103 on November 1. The home put an appeal out to try and get 103 cards, which was quickly smashed with support from various parts of the world including Australia and New Zealand.

The local community including businesses and schools came together to send cards as well as balloons, banners and gifts. The celebrations continued through the weekend with a party at the home, followed by the Limo ride and ice cream on Sunday.
