Chris Girard resigns from Bay County Growth Alliance Board | Local [Video]

BAY CITY, Mich. (WJRT) – A board member of the Bay County Growth Alliance resigned Wednesday, a day after the organization offered its version of why it gave a loan to the now-bankrupt Bay City State Theatre.

Chris Girard had been on the Growth Alliance board for more than a decade and was its president when the loan was agreed to.

He says he has been thinking about stepping down for a while, but it comes amid the Bay City State Theatre board and the Bay County Growth Alliance board differing on how that loan came about.

Chris Girard is a Bay City Commissioner and a Mayoral candidate, but he is no longer a board member of the Bay County Growth Alliance, as he has officially resigned.
