China’s self-developed floating airship, Jimu No.1, successfully conducted atmospheric research over the Purog Kangri Glacier. Located in Nagqu City, the Xizang Autonomous Region, the Purog Kangri Glacier is the world’s third-largest ice sheet and the largest outside the Arctic and Antarctic regions. The data collected will significantly enhance the understanding of the Purog Kangri Glacier’s environment, aiding scientists in better predicting changes in the region’s atmosphere and climate. This research is expected to continue until the end of September, providing crucial insights into atmospheric circulation patterns.
