CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Downtown Management District team will not close roads Friday for the final ArtWalk of the year. Instead they will activate their “winter protocol,” expecting lighter crowds.
Daniela Campos with Downtown Corpus Christi hopes the community will still come out and enjoy the event.
“This also is kind of the first ArtWalk that we have where we’ve adopted a winter format and essentially that means no road closures and we’ve kind of reduced our footprint,” Campos said. “This was a decision that we’ve done for the past couple of years just to kind of preemptively prepare for any inclement weather that might pop up.”
Campos said the inclement weather has canceled several ArtWalks in the past, hurting local businesses and vendors.
