Child advocacy agency serving Brazos Valley for 30 years [Video]

Scotty’s House turns 30 this year and the child advocacy center celebrated with a ribbon cutting and open house Thursday evening.

Prior to the celebration, executive director Cary Baker talked about the center and its mission.

“We served our first client on Jan. 5, 1995, and since then, 13,000 children have come through our doors,” Baker said. “It’s really, I think, for us in this community, it’s something we want to celebrate; help the community understand the impact that we have, and the work that we do, and let them know that we’re here and we’re going to be here for the next 30 years.”

Scotty’s House is a nonprofit child advocacy center serving Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Leon, Madison, Robertson and Washington counties.
