Brandon Thompson, 44, charged over $100,000 to a company card while he worked as an administrator for a company partnered with Sentara Hospital.
NORFOLK, Va. — A Chesapeake man faces up to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to wire fraud on Thursday, the Department of Justice said.
According to officials, from June 2015 until February 2023, 44-year-old Brandon Thompson charged over $100,000 to a company card while he worked as an administrator with a Virginia joint venture among physicians in conjunction with Sentara Hospital.
From January 2018 until February 2023, Thompson made unauthorized charges to the card for his rent, wedding reception, divorce attorney, groceries, diamonds, airline tickets and an initiation fee for a country club membership – instead of authorized purchases such as equipment for the facility.
Thompson is scheduled for sentencing on May 9, 2025.
