A video is going viral on social media which shows security force personnel hitting a CCTV camera with a stick. The claim links it to the recent violence in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh.

Is this true?: The viral video has been on the internet since 2020. The video surfaced in 2020 during the Delhi riots that took place after the anti-CAA protests.

The Quint spoke with some shopkeepers of Khureji area, who confirmed that the video is from the same area.

How did we find out the truth?: We performed a reverse image search on some of the keyframes of the viral video and this led us to several social media posts from 2020.
