The Chabad of Texas Towns hosts a Chanukah celebration in Waco’s Indian Spring Park on Saturday evening.
WACO, Texas — As Chanukah comes to a close, Central Texas can gather for an exciting celebration in one of Waco’s scenic spots.
The Chabad of Texas Towns, led by Rabbi Saadia Kaufman, organized an event to honor and celebrate the Chanukkah, or Hanukkah, season on Saturday, Dec. 28 at 7 p.m. According to a press release, the event takes place near Waco’s historic Suspension Bridge at Indian Spring Park.
Participants will experience a grand menorah lighting ceremony, lively music and family-oriented activities. A group called the Roving Rabbis is slated to run the event.
Rabbi Zalmy Hirsch applauded officials at Waco City Hall for making the event possible.
“This is an event with the timeless message of Chanukah — the triumph of light over darkness — for everyone to enjoy,” Rabbi Hirsch said.
