Central IL inventors, innovators have a new platform to create, converse [Video]

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — The non-profit ID8 Labs was created to bring together creators and people with ideas.

They met Wednesday night in Champaign to network with people from all-walks of life. This is the first event for ID8 Labs, and they’re planning more.

The founders said they wanted to give a platform for people to explore ideas without pressure.

“There’s no shortage of great ideas in this town,” said co-founder Mike Yao. “And what’s really missing is a platform to connect all the dots, and connect all the talent together, to nurture these ideas. And so, we decided to say, well, what if there’s a community that we bring our professional network?”

People can pitch their ideas to doctors, professors and people in the technology sector. Organizers said there is no idea too small to discuss.
