CenterPointe needs help from the community to keep people warm this winter [Video]

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Winter is often a difficult season for people experiencing homelessness in Lincoln. That’s why the mental health and substance abuse treatment center, CenterPointe, is asking the community to help them give back.

Savannah Heflin, the Street Outreach Team Leader, said community members they serve often experience homelessness. It’s the reason they have kicked off the Winter Essentials Drive.

Through Nov. 22, people can donate thermal undergarments, coats, boots, hand warmers, and other items that will keep people warm.

Those items can be donated to a few places around Lincoln including CenterPointe’s Wellbeing Campus on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 8 a.m.- 7 p.m.
