CCISD learn more about integrating AI as a resource in the classroom [Video]

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Corpus Christi Independent School District rolled out the use of artificial intelligence (AI) as one of their learning tools back in fall 2023. 

Since then, the district has been learning more about how to polish and refine their use of the tool in classroom curriculum.

CCISD Coordinator of Innovative Technologies Denis Wisner said while academic integrity was a hurdle they saw when first considering AI, they’re finding ways to adapt to the software.

“It cannot ask this education AI app to say, ‘Write this thesis statement about XYZ,’ ” he said. “It’s going to say ‘Well, let’s talk about the thesis statement.’ ”

Wisner said part of that process is the 20-60-20 model he created. It’s a criteria that gives definitive lines between AI and human guidance.
