FRANKFORT, N.Y. — Officials cut the ribbon on the new 4.8 megawatt community solar project in Frankfort.
The project was developed by Catalyze, an independent power producer of renewable energy assets.
The solar panels are at a brownfield site on Bleeker Street and is owned by Human Technologies.
This was a partnership between Catalyze, Human Technologies, and state officials.
With the use of the solar panels the goal is to help lower costs of energy bills for the public.
Brent McDevitt, director of business development with Catalyze, said the public will see benefits from solar in the next coming months.
McDevitt said, “It is truly a win-win for all of environmental causes and for New York State reaching its lofty goals which we plan to crush. Most importantly it will help the residents of the community.”
