Car crashes into apartment in St. Andrews community: 1 displaced [Video]

Officials said there were no reported injuries, but the apartment was deemed uninhabitable after the crash.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Officials say that the South Carolina Highway Patrol is now investigating after a vehicle struck an apartment building.

Columbia Fire said the call was dispatched around 4:45 p.m. to the 1200 block of Metze Road, which is in the St. Andrews community. Officials said a vehicle appears to have run into the corner of an apartment, causing structural damage and displacing one person. 

Authorities said there were no reported injuries, but the apartment unit is uninhabitable due to the damage. A fire official said the driver involved in the crash left.

No additional details about the incident or the driver were available on Sunday evening.
