Canton Economic Development Corp. breaks ground on new housing development [Video]

CANTON, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – On Wednesday, Monarch Development Partners, LLC broke ground on a new 64-acre housing subdivision three years in the making.

The development, named the Liberty Addition, will bring single-family homes and multi-family units to the community of Canton.

“I know all stakeholders want to thank the South Dakota Housing and Development Authority and the South Dakota State Legislature for the opportunity to secure $3.3 million in grant funding through the Housing Infrastructure Finance Program,” said Jeffery Tanner, executive director of the Canton Economic Development Corporation.

The single-family housing will be available in three different tiers. The multi-family housing will include traditional units with the potential to own select units.
