Campaign gives more details on Tim Walz event in Omaha-metro this weekend [Video]

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Tim Walz is planning a visit to his home state with a campaign event this weekend in Nebraska’s “blue dot.”

The Harris-Walz campaign said the Nebraska native will be at an Omaha area campaign event from 1-5 p.m. Saturday. The campaign confirmed Friday that the rally would be held at The Astro in La Vista.

The event was listed as “at capacity” on Thursday morning.

NDP is also planning a watch party for Walz in Alliance next week.

Walz, the governor of Minnesota, was announced as Vice President Harris’ running mate last week, and the campaign has been making note of his Nebraska roots.

He was born in West Point, raised in Valentine, and went to Chadron State College before heading to Alliance, where Walz followed in his father’s footsteps, working as a public school teacher and administrator.
