CALE School increases partnership with Columbia College | Mid-Missouri News [Video]

COLUMBIA — Students at the CALE School now have increased access to the offerings of Columbia College.

The Columbia Academy for Learning and Enrichment strengthened its partnership with Columbia College on Tuesday.

As part of the new partnership, students enrolled in CALE High School now have access to reduced costs on dual credit classes, access to the tutoring center, meal plans, and parking at Columbia College.

“All of the things that a college student would receive attending Columbia College,” school co-founder Susan Deakins said, “our high school kids get access to.”

The CALE School offers a small, and more personal setting, than comprehensive high schools. The founders say its school places a heavy focus on executive functioning and soft skills needed for life after college.

“They don’t just have to do their course credits,” school co-founder Jill Brown said, “they can also do the things that really appeal to them.”
