ANGELS CAMP, Calif. – Angels Camp, Calaveras County’s only incorporated city, is growing. Local families will not only get their shot at affordable housing but help build their homes.
Eventually, 107 homes will be built on 17 acres of land for families throughout Calaveras County to live in. Habitat for Humanity said the project is the non-profit’s largest building project in California.
Tucked away in rural Angels Camp, a community of roughly 3,500 people, is Eureka Oaks. The housing development will be home to dozens of Calaveras County families.
“It’s monumental,” Executive Director Morgan Gace said.
The development is a milestone that Angel’s Camp Councilmember Alvin Broglio said is likely the biggest project his community has seen in years.
