CABQ public transit leaders create new, update rules to ride for bus system [Video]

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – It’s the city’s latest effort to make public transit in the metro safer for riders. They’ve updated some rules, created new ones, and continue to ramp up security.

“If you’re not following the rules to ride, you’re first asked to comply, and then you’re just asked to exit the bus,” said Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller at Saturday’s press conference.

Some of those new rules include no large carts, loud music, drug use, or littering. They’ve also updated some rules already in place. Eating is no longer allowed on the bus. Drinks are allowed but only in sealable containers. No smoking is permitted, which includes vapes, and no blocking aisles with bags or other items.
