Transit trouble sparked a political divide among Jefferson Parish leaders. Temperatures reached a boiling point at Wednesday’s meeting — all over a bus advertisement contract. Councilwoman-at-large Jennifer Van Vrancken accused others — without naming any names — of trying to undo a deal for wrapping ads on parish buses. She even sent it to the state attorney general. “How I am to a mother is nobody’s business, but I have two children, and since I’ve taken office I have told them your mother might make mistakes, your mother might disagree with other people, but you will never see my name in the newspaper as a corrupt politician. And guess what? Corrupt politician right next to my name. That is unfair and it is wrong and you cast that doubt on all the people that worked on this contract.
